Festival Info

Diwali is known as the Festival of Lights, and is celebrated throughout South Asia, and India in particular. Diwali is an important holiday for Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and some Buddhists, celebrating the triumph of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance.

Parking

Diwali Committee has worked with the City of Carmel to provide dedicated parking and transportation options. Festival attendees are asked to not park in the Center Garage (adjacent to the Tarkington Theater).

  • Park & Ride

    • ​Park at the Carmel High School stadium and ride the quick and complimentary shuttle bus to the Diwali Festival.

      • 2450 E. 136th Street
        Smoky Row Lots 1 and 2

    • To return to the stadium parking lot, pick up the shuttle

      • 3rd Avenue SW at the Northwest corner of the event. 

  • Park & Walk

    • Park at the Carmel United Methodist Church and enjoy a quick walk to the ​festival grounds

      • ​621 S. Range Line Rd.

    • Parking is also available at Carmel City Hall.

      • 1 Civic Square

  • Bike Parking

    • Temporary bike parking is available at the Northwest corner of Carter Green​
